Painting winter birds

Painting winter birds.

These nice birds come in a package and are very nice to paint.

I made these 2 versions of it.

What do you need?

A set with mdf birds.

Colors of acrylic paint, I used Americana together with the jars of Pebeo acrylic paint.

You can mix the colors very well with each other.

At the bottom of this message you will see a shopping list.

How do you proceed?

I didn't prime the birds this time, but that's always allowed.

I drew the lines of the clothing with pencil so that it is easier to paint the surfaces.

Then I paint the bird first.

with one bird I chose 1 color brown, with the other I was a bit more exuberant and tried to apply the plumage.

I think both have something.

Then I painted the clothes, the blue hat has glow in the dark glitter paste from Pentart on it and it gives a nice blue glow when the light goes out, during the day you don't see those dots very well, that's why I have white dots in between put.

I absolutely love that paste and did not expect such a strong glow in the dark effect.

The earmuffs are made with expand paste, this is a paste that puffs due to heat (think of popcorn)

When that is dry I put galaxy paint from DecoArt on it so that it has some nice shimmer.

Put all black lines with a posca pen to finish it off nicely.

Then finish everything with a varnish.

In the past I worked with my mother together on roof tiles and stones with napkins, this was so much fun. And the nice thing is that it is still a very nice and beautiful technique. The technique I use now is just a little different, because you work on the inside.
