making lanterns with glass paint and stickers
making lanterns with glass paint and outline stickers
I love lights and candles.
And this time, I decorated old glasses and jars with stickers and glass paint.
What do you need?
Cute little glass jars; I always save nice jars from candles or food items.
I used water-based glass paint from Pentart on these glasses.
Cute outline stickers like the cat and the flowers, but you can also just enjoy painting yourself.
Small paintbrushes.
How do you proceed
First, clean the glass jars thoroughly and degrease them well.
Find some nice outline stickers; we sell a nice set with these types of stickers.
Choose the colors of glass paint you want to use. I recommend definitely purchasing the glass paint medium; this makes the paint thinner and slightly lighter in color, so that light shines through it even more beautifully.
With the purple flower, you can see that the top part was done with the glass paint without medium, and the bottom part with the medium.
Stick the sticker neatly onto the glass and press it down firmly with a cloth.
Paint in the parts of the stickers with a thin brush. If you use the medium, the paint becomes a bit more fluid and works a little easier.
I didn't bake the glasses, because that isn't possible with the stickers. If you are painting something yourself without stickers, you can put it in the oven for 30 minutes at 100°C and let it harden. Then you can always wash it off.
Have fun crafting,
Greetings Agnes
