Painting coasters.
Aren't these coasters cute?
They are stone coasters painted with acrylic paint and posca markers.
This time the honor goes to Gudule, a walking buddy of mine, who made these beautiful coasters.
What do you need?
Nice coasters, can be made of wood or stone.
Acrylic paint, posca markers and a good varnish.
And in this case examples from the internet, or if you are creative you can draw beautiful images yourself.
How do you proceed?
If you have very smooth stone coasters, I recommend first applying a primer layer.
This can be done with gesso or a layer of white acrylic paint.
With wood it is not really necessary, but if you prefer that, it is always possible.
Then you sketch your drawing on the coasters with a pencil, so you can print out pictures and cover them with carbon paper.
Once you have done this, the fun work begins, painting your drawings with different colors.
You can go wild with regular acrylic paint or with posca pens.
Once the paint has dried thoroughly, varnish it with a good varnish.
You can then wipe the coasters with a slightly damp cloth, but never put them in the dishwasher.
